Hey, I'm Lydia. I'm 23, and currently trying to get into better shape/health than I am right now. I'm going to use this blog as a way to document my progress, and share with you some tips that have helped me. I'm open to suggestions and trying new things, so please don't hesitate to share!

Good morning Tumblr Land!!

So I decided to get off my butt and do something today.  I was working on my midterm for one of my classes, and just needed to get out.  I was roughly following the Couch-to-5K program above, and I’M SO SORRY BUT I CAN’T FIND THE SOURCE FOR THAT PHOTO. IT IS NOT MINE.

In any case, I’m pretty proud of what I accomplished. I spent a grand total of about 45 minutes in “workout” mode, doing some in-apartment stretches and moves, then actually going outside. The app I used on my phone is called My Tracks from Google.  I think it’s fantastic.  It keeps track of how fast I’m going, where I go via GPS, and it backs up to my google+ account and drive.

This is my first time officially “working out” in almost 7 months. I’m pretty happy that I was able to do what I did. There are plenty of service roads around me, so I was able to huff and puff and feel like dying in private. Every mile matters, and I just need to keep telling myself that otherwise I will forget why I started.

Track Listing:

  1. Daft Punk - “Get Lucky”
  2. Soulja Boy - “Swing”
  3. Enrique Iglesias - “I Like It”
  4. Maroon 5 - “Harder to Breathe” (very fitting, actually)
  5. Pink - “So What”

I came home, cooled down, drank a ton of water, and now I’m just doing some basic stretches to help prevent lactic acid build up.  After a PB and Banana sandwich with some tea, I’ll shower and continue my homework.

I’m sore. My lungs hurt from the 30 degree wind.  I can’t stop coughing.

I’m very, very proud of myself right now :)
